For senior executives, entrepreneurs and knowledge workers
Everything you work with in one place - the people you know, what was said, and what you've agreed - kept on your own private server. Maxy briefs you before each meeting and writes your proposals and reports in your own words. You spend more time with your clients.
Get startedWhy Maxy exists
Joel Smalley, Founder
I'm Joel Smalley, and I built Maxy because I needed it. I run several ventures, a stack of live projects, and the working relationships my income depends on. I'm also raising three young children on my own.
All of that is my personal responsibility and it all needs doing at the same time. I needed an assistant that holds the whole of it together: what was said, what I agreed, what comes next. So I built one, and it is the system I work in every day.

Profile 01
Your value lives in trust, presence, and the quality of your relationships. Maxy manages what sits around that.
Profile 02
Your value lives in what only you can think and make. Maxy handles what doesn't require your judgement.
"I built this because I am both. The relationship network is the foundation of my commercial life; the intellectual output is the product. Maxy handles the infrastructure for each, without either needing the other's overhead."

How Maxy works
Most AI tools start a fresh conversation every time. Maxy is built around a knowledge graph that persists indefinitely, with specialist agents that read from and write back to it.
01
Every person, document, conversation and decision you've touched lands in a single ontological graph. Each node is typed and connected; the whole is searchable by meaning, not just keyword. Nothing is lost between sessions.
02
Research, writing, scheduling, document production and publishing each have a dedicated agent, orchestrated by the main Claude. All of them draw on the same persistent memory. Ask once; the right specialist does the work and records the result in the graph.
03
Maxy brings up what's pending, who to call and what needs a decision. It does not make those calls for you. The judgement that creates your value stays with you.
The AI second brain that Karpathy and Garry Tan popularised works, but it expects you to be a software engineer to build and run it, and it stores everything in a folder of markdown files. Maxy gives you the same outcome with none of that setup, on a graph that does more. Markdown, or a graph? →
Getting started
01
Fill in the form below and tell me what you're after. We agree what you need and I invoice the one-off setup fee.
02
Together we configure your Hetzner server and run a single command. Maxy takes it from there: the knowledge graph, the plugin layer, and remote access all assemble themselves. There is no long checklist of manual steps.
03
You have a working system and you have me. I am available for questions, adjustments, and guidance on an ongoing basis. This is a personal relationship, not a one-time handover.
I can now put the same setup in place for you in less than an hour. You also get my time to get you going: Maxy Code customers get four hours with me, and Maxy Lite users get thirty minutes. Pick a time that suits you and we'll get started.
Book a timeYou will need a Claude subscription (the Max plan, 5x minimum recommended, around £90/month) and somewhere to run it: a Hetzner cloud server at around $100/month, or your own Linux machine or Mac at no monthly hosting cost. Whatever it runs on, allow 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended. The Claude subscription and any hosting you rent are billed directly to you by those providers. No ongoing fees from Rubytech beyond the one-off setup. Unlike other agentic tools, including Anthropic's own official Claude Agent SDK, Maxy runs within your flat Claude subscription, with no metered per-token charges.
Want to learn to build this yourself? The Maxy Institute teaches the principles and the practice. It complements a done-for-you setup; many people want both.

Comparison between Lite and Code
Maxy Code is the full version. It runs on your own server, with a proper database behind it, the full Cloudflare setup, live websites and hosting, and the tools to deploy it and keep an eye on it. Maxy Lite is the free version. It runs on your Android phone, keeps everything as plain files, and connects to a few of your accounts, with no live websites.
